Reflecting on my first EVENTech experience, I come away from the experience having reconnected with old colleagues in the industry, having met some very talented and creative tech companies and having learned about what is trending in the experience marketing category.
I will admit much of the technology discussed is not altogether new e.g. augmented reality, virtual reality, and 360 immersive experiences are things that have long been in industry but had not really caught fire, most likely due to the lack of sophistication or functionality of the equipment. What did surprise me though are some of the masterful ways people are integrating those technologies and trends in to their campaigns.
I also spent a lot of time reviewing automation or simplification technology like event registration, surveying/polling, as well as social media ROI analytic platforms and formats. A few were real standouts e.g. Thuzi, Event Mobi etc. The efficiency these tools bring to bear as well as the impact they have on the actual experiences themselves is invaluable.
Congrats to all the speakers and presenters. Oracle and separately Cisco Live are doing great things with their social media at events mapping out amplification, support and continuity through content curation, content planning and content distribution. ESurance via the mayhem campaign was brilliant. Not only for the results but also for the unique and very on brand authentic campaign.
