Why a small or minority-owned business should aim for awards

We received the USPAACC FAST 100 Asian American Business award

This week, we will travel to the great city of Atlanta to attend the CelebrASIAN Conference 2024 –America’s largest and longest-running business development conference convened by Pan Asian Americans, where Montage will be recognized as one of USPAACC FAST 100 Asian American Businesses. USPAACC is the most established and largest non-profit organization representing Pan Asian Americans and their related groups in business, sciences, the arts, sports, education, public and community services, and it is an honor to have been chosen by them.

CelebrASIAN is the annual flagship event of the US Pan Asian American Chamber of Commerce Education Foundation (USPAACC) that brings together top-caliber participants from the business, non-profit, and government sectors. Businesses can connect and learn from inspiring A-list speakers, industry innovators, movers and shakers, decision-makers from Fortune 1000 Corporations, high-level government officials, national non-profit leaders, premier vendors, exceptional entrepreneurs, and rising stars of the Pan Asian American and diverse business communities.

Why awards are crucial for minority-owned businesses

The award itself is undoubtedly appreciated, but what it represents is more critical. Asian-American-owned small businesses account for about 11% of all small businesses where race and ethnicity are available. Entrepreneurship and ownership of a business are highly valued in the Asian community and represent success. In addition, these businesses equate to more than 3MM firms, which employ 5.2MM people and contribute more than $1.0 trillion in receipts, which is vital to the American economy overall.

Asian American women-owned businesses are also essential to the American economy. As a female and women-founded and owned agency, we were keenly aware of the challenges Asian women face in business. Prejudice can bar the path to success, as seen with the high levels of stigmatization the Asian American community faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. Yet, Asian American women represent a higher share of business owners than adult women in the U.S. – 6.3%, employ 1.4 million people and generate $265.2 billion.

Organizations like USPAACC spotlight and elevate the value and importance of minority-owned organizations and their impact on communities, the business environment, and the economy. This helps to create awareness, credibility, and trust in the ability of Asian-owned businesses to be successful, which in turn helps with access to finance, talent attraction and retention, and customer attraction.

We thank USPAACC for recognizing Montage Marketing Group. We must also thank our team and clients, who made it all possible. We could not have gotten this award without their trust, dedication, and commitment. Want to learn why investing in diversity, equity, and inclusion can help drive economic growth?
