THE CHALLENGE

The Capital Region Minority Supplier Development Council (CRMSDC) needed to quickly execute a virtual event for nearly 150 minority business enterprises (MBEs) and participating organizations. They sought a partner that could identify and manage a platform complete with functionality for presentations, Q&A, and speed dating-style group networking.

OUR SOLUTION

Montage evaluated CRMSDC’s needs and selected the Fairs platform for the Super Matchmaker Conference. We then guided CRMSDC in developing the virtual environment to create an experience where attendees felt like they were at an in-person event rather than their computers.

In advance of the virtual conference, Montage conducted outreach to attendees to help them make the most of the conference’s networking opportunities with corporations and government agencies. This kept the matchmaking groups to an effective and manageable size, minimized confusion during the event, and allowed the corporations to prepare for their specific attendees.

Montage produced the event and run of show, integrating Zoom to deliver opening remarks and presentation sessions, and designing and producing a livestream of the award ceremony to mirror the experience of an in-person event. We additionally provided in-platform support, promoting speakers, incorporating music between sessions, and troubleshooting any issues brought forth by attendees.

THE RESULTS

  • Montage successfully planned and executed the virtual conference for nearly 150 attendees.
  • More than 650 visits were made to virtual booths hosted by organizations such as Dominion Energy, Northrup Grumman, AT&T, Baltimore Gas & Electric, US Army Materiel Command, and others.
