Montgomery County Department of Environmental Protection

Virtual events bring a community one step closer to its zero-waste goals.

To support its ambitious zero-waste goals, the Montgomery County (MD) Department of Environmental Protection needed to reach and educate decision makers on the implementation and enhancement of on-site recycling programs at the County’s 715 multi-family residences.

Montage planned and executed a series of virtual events to provide multi-family residences with actionable information on how to increase recycling and reduce waste. We strategically targeted property managers, staff, and service providers who are responsible for overseeing and conducting on-site operations.
The events included educational and interactive presentations demonstrating how to establish, maintain, and grow residential recycling, waste reduction, reuse, and composting programs as well as opportunities to ask questions of County staff and subject-matter experts.
Montage managed advanced promotion, registration, and event logistics, designing creative materials and conducting outreach and follow up to stimulate attendance. We also assisted behind-the-scenes with technology set-up, rehearsals, and troubleshooting.

  • Montage delivered four successful webinars to key decision makers for local multi-family residences.
  • The events supported increased participation in multi-family residence recycling activities, helping the County move closer toward its goal of zero waste.
