Event management enhances the accessibility and impact of an annual community service celebration.
How do you improve an annual event year after year? Montgomery County, Maryland approached Montage with that very challenge.
As well-connected event experts with roots in the local community, we jumped at the opportunity to shape the county’s annual MLK Day of Service. Since 2018, we have led event planning, management and promotion, along with volunteer recruitment and registration – leaving the small but mighty staff of the Montgomery County Volunteer Center free to focus on their day-to-day duties.
Under our leadership, the annual day of service has expanded from one centralized event to six sites countywide. We continue to welcome new nonprofits and reengage old favorites each year, helping organizations shape and scale meaningful volunteer activities. Montage negotiates, secures and manages event vendors. With a DJ, photographer, videographer and signage company as in-kind sponsors, we keep funds directed at local causes instead of overhead costs.
Year-over-year, Montage made the Montgomery County Volunteer Center’s annual MLK Day of Service more accessible and engaging. Having welcomed 3,800 volunteers, 108 service projects and 47 nonprofits in 2019, we can’t wait to see what 2021 brings!
